Why are sponsors so hard to find?

Sponsors are hard to find in today's economy. Unfortunately you have to prove yourself before anyone will even give you a chance. Sponsors offer discounts on their products and most sponsors offer 5, 10 or if you're lucky 15% off their products. This may feel like the employee discount which is not what you are looking for but it is something. Racers spend thousands on tires, gearing, gear, oil, coolant, etc. and it makes it tough to make it when you are hit with high prices. Make sure when you sign with a sponsor that you are able to renegotiate when you step on the podium. Let them know that you are getting more exposure and need an upgrade in your sponsorship level. Full sponsorships is one of the hardest things to acquire! Keep trying.
